Eligibility: Candidates having BA/BSc degree in Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/Allied Health or having BA/BSc or bachelor’s degrees in medicine, engineering, or from arts and sciences who have studied mathematics or statistics in their undergraduate course work.
The Master of Science in Biostatistics & Epidemiology course will prepare students in biostatistical methods for study design, data analysis, statistical reporting, data management, statistical reasoning and reporting. Graduates of the programme will be prepared for careers as biostatisticians in a variety of professional environments including government, academics, healthcare, research organizations and industry.
Biostatistics involves the theory and application of statistical science to address issues in health sciences, including medicine and public health. It uses quantitative research methods for analysing health problems. Biostatisticians play a role in designing research studies, monitoring data quality, analysing data, interpreting the results and making inferences based on the data.
